It's not even clear in the film, where the names coming from. And then it's even less clear why the director made this decision. It makes no sense to me. Maybe they know that christopher columbus is the most famous of the colonialpersonalities and so it was just an easy, easy choice at that point. I guess we'll never really know. But i did think it was an important point that they used this name, specifically a, as an alias for essentially blake's father.
