Is There a Norm of Not Militating in Space?

An interesting aspect of the ukraine conflict, and just any conflict in general, are the norms around what's o ka, what isn't. It is acceptable bat sides will do this when it comes to satellites. treaties exist which essentially state that, you know, we will not militarize space. A part of not militarizing means that governments will not attack things that are in space. If some one were to a perform an offensive use in space, to take out somebody else's satellite, my hope would be that the international opprobrium would rise to the point where that actor would be shamed into never doing it again.
