The Prophylactic Measures of Mechanically Ventilated Critical Ill Patients
The interventions were based on the classic Dutch recipes, as described in a number of previous trials. This included both an oral paste and also a gastric suspension which had a combination of Callisten, Tobromison, and Nastatin. We used Nastatin because amphotericin base was now almost unobtainable, but within the gut, they're equivalent. In some part at work, about 60% of patients admitted to the ICU were already receiving these antibiotics. And it was made up pharmacologically with the necessary excipients for a stable, both microbiologically stable and thermally stable product.
