What Caused Nastalgia?

Many mercenaries died from nastalgia. There were conflicting opinions about what actually caused the condition. Hoffer thought it was nerve vibrations that vicerally channelled the home land. Other doctors argued it was caused by changes in atmospheric pressure, while others claimed it was cause by cow bells. So whether it was pressure changes, cow bells or various other theories of the rut cause of the disease, hoffer said there was basically only one cure that would actually work, unless the sufferer was sent back home. Then the condition could be fatal and the person who had nastalgia could die.
