In aristotle's theory of knowing, there is no distinction we typically have between knowing and being. So when you know something, for aristotle, your mind is in conformity with it. We are increasingly coming to see that this kind of contact knowing is much more central to howa cognition works than previously thought. I'm goig to come back to this sense of participatory knowing.
