The Importance of Impunity in the 21st Century
I agree entirely that what's at stake in the Russia's war against Ukraine is Ukraine's national sovereignty. I think it's crucial that we try and find areas of international cooperation to address the central questions that are propelling our world into disorder. The alternative to impunity is accountability and the rule of law. We don't need new laws, we need to defend the laws that we've got. And my pitch would be that it's therule of law that should bind international understanding. That is the basis of having an ordered approach to the world of the future.
