As collectivization began to become more and more radical, you begin to see the early stages of where things could go very wrong. Despite what appeared to be impressive industrial output, like we're talking like an additional increase of 19% per year. But it was a big increase of quantity over quality. And remember that land issue that we were talking about before? Well, as things became more and more collectivized on a larger scale, rural people started to resist this private property seizure.
