Swimming and walking are things I've always done but they've grown in importance as I've got older. The need to be alone for long periods of time or swim in a way that's less spontaneous has become an important part of my life. But at the same time I really despise some of the culture that has arisen around cold or swimming which is all about measuring how many minutes you stay in water. We can't do it we just add numbers to everything and then wonder why it's unpleasant, he says.
