Psychoanalysis Is About Openings
Psychology is a science in which this condition for things is not sought but found. Lacan would start with this passage, I do not seek, I find. He's basically throwing down the gauntlet and saying, yeah, we're a science over here, but we're not searchers. We find things. What that is that psychoanalysis finds is our first point of inquiry now. So science is about objectivity. Psychoanalysis is about objects. Now let's see if we can figure out what that means.
