Is There Really a Hash Tag Magic Number?

For the longest time, everyone said you should use exactly 11 hash tags for the best reach. So where does this number come from, and does it hold any water? In september of 20 21, insigram's very own at creator's account said you should really only use three to five hash tegs when you post. But we have seen time and time again that those who develop a proper hash tag strategy see much better reach an engagement when they use more hash tags.
