How Do You Go Deep in This?

In his final book, Battling to the End, Gerard says something like history is in our hands, but out of our control. And so there's a complete sort of defeatism that is fully audible in his final work. He thinks we are literally heading into apocalypse and that it will come from essentially a nuclear Armageddon. But I think actually a really logical one, if you buy into the other aspects of Gerard's theory, That there's a logic of history that has been let loose by the Christian revelation that we can't really sort of put back and stop.
