The Return of Tarquinius in Livy
Tarquinius is unhappy with the cavalry, he senses that they're not as strong as he would like them to be. He also sees a return in chapter 36 to one of the themes that we've discussed before: The role of religion in public life and this recurs in the context of war. And so here we have a really colorful episode with Tarquin that kind of returns to this theme with the birds. They're preparing to surround the city. This is again another battle with the Sabines and there's this sudden invasion. There's panic and realm.
