The Second Vatican Ecumenical Council had remained a dead letter in terms of highlighting a fundamental priestly orientation. Luman-Gensium 10 affirms the essential difference between these two participation but does not provide a theological explanation of their relationship. Filling the gap has been the focus of my theological essay in this symposium for a fundamental theology of the priesthood.
