Dr. Felner: It's important for the take home electrolytes to be sodium, potassium, as well as glucose and then understanding that acidosis has an effect on end organ function. We don't always know if somebody's HHS or DKA right off the bat so it's hard to just, all right, we know this kid's HHS. The HHS have a much higher risk of mortality, especially in a center like ours,. And we see this all the time with type one patients but we do have our fair share of longer term issues with HHS kids too.
