The Fall of the FIU Bridge
The defendants paid out roughly $103 million to the victims and families of the victims who were affected by the collapse. Money could never replace the loved ones lost, but time marches on. FDOT announced plans to design and rebuild the pedestrian bridge over southwest 8th Street, Miami, this time with guidance from the NTSB. The project is scheduled for completion in 2025.
