The Soul as a Principle of Natural Science
Aristotle: The soul is first and foremost the principle of life as such in its most generic sense. I want to suggest that the soul's natural academic home, if it has any home, is not principally theology or religious studies. Why might a biologist precisely as a biologist make use of this soul concept? So perhaps we can render the title a little less poster worthy.
