The Importance of the DeWitt Report on the Exclusion Order

In January 1944, the War Department released a copy of DeWitt's final report to the public. This report was a 618-page rationale for what the government called its evacuation program. Korematsu's lawyer would use the report as printed evidence that the exclusion order violated several different constitutional amendments. Both Korematsu and Endo's cases would be heard at the same time.
