"I joke about this with our clients all the time, where we had, you know, sort of what about lock in and everything else," he says. "They know that these things can't be monetized, that the popularity of them, it's not product market fit." The company is using CockroachDB but they're also using an open source variant to redistribute their software. They've been able to buy their way out of a license by setting up a commercial agreement.
