Cantonese Ketchup or Tomato Sauce?
Ketchup is American and I think it's slightly different from tomato sauce. The British likely encountered ketchup in southeast Asia returned home and tried to replicate the fermented dark sauce. If you want to use some slang in Australia you can call it Dead Horse and some rhyming slang for you.
