The Senate Version of the Bill Is Doing Hearings Quickly on Both
The bills would reduce the types of people that are deemed, you know, public figures or context where someone is considered a public figure. The higher standard of actual malice would apply if they were to bring a defamation suit. It's very serious problems with the bills. They contradict New York Times versus Sullivan and many other cases like Rosenblum versus Metro media.
