The Importance of Covenants

Paul is quoting the Old Testament. That's the only testament there is at this point, of course. So that he is quoting the Bible they have as it were. But he's also engaging with the Judaizers or the circumcision party. And what you're going to find if you go back and look at it is that this not only doesn't lead you to salvation now, it never did. It was always done by promise. The law which came 430 years afterward does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God so as to make the promise void. We know what was promised and that was Christ.
