The Origins of Pizza and Pasta Pomodoro

The idea that pizza and pasta pomodoro as the national dishes of Italy didn't actually come from Italians themselves or at least that people in Italy. In fact, these people fled because they had no food. They were eating aqua salé, which is like this dark red dipped in vinegar and hardly anything else. So a lot of them are from the south; they have no unified identity. And so arguably, it's one theory that the Italian cuisine gets unified and becomes Italian in the aspera before that process starts happening back in the Bell paella.
