There's been a lot of talk over the last few years about the tax inclusion rate on capital gains rising from where it is now at 50% to maybe as high as 70, 75%. I can tell you that climate is right for this type of tax change. Most people in Canada do not care about it because they don't have any money invested in a non registered portfolio. You got to be careful with when you're taking losses and things like that. And if you are gifting your appreciated security to a charity, get that tax deduction later on.
