Retrieval Practice Is a Great Way to Start a Lesson

I don't think the liver understand why we as a profession want to insist that things happen in a certain way. The other thing is about saying, oh, well, we'll do it five to eight minutes. That's almost a red flag. And I haven't encountered research that says retrieval practice is best at this point in a lesson or this point. It might just not be practical. They might need to just come in and finish something off. Or they might actually have a summative assessment. There's all these sorts of different factors that come into it.
