The Daimonion
Socrates was put on trial in part because he kept talking about this, what he called the daimonion. The word means like a sort of intermediate deity that communicates to human beings. Socrates is very interesting. He never names the God. In the Jewish tradition, we know who God is. And there's so many places in the dialogues where we hear this kind of stuff that I don't, it just it would be foolish, frankly, to rule them out.
