Filling in the Gaps in Sappho's Poetry
I was wondering if maybe since you're being asked to fill in these gaps and the condition on papyrus, almost asked for a measure of creativity. And so poems written in that dialect using Sappho's meters. So all the poetry is done to various meters. If there's the meter and the dialect, and that would help keep it closer to the original Sappho. Does that help a little bit? Yes, it does. It's not a question of getting it right or being true to the historical Sappho but more of a spiritual sense.
