The Origins of Stone Circles
There's a shift to circular monuments that happens around about 3,200 BC. We get stone circles in Orkney and also in places like Cumbria. And probably the connection to Ireland is where we kind of have to look for the origins of these circular passage tombs. So perhaps we have to look to Ireland for the ideas coming across to other parts of Britain.
