The current ocean temperatures globally tracking well above average. We know that signal is due to climate change. And the oceans are what store a lot of the heat that gets put into the atmosphere. That's why we're seeing temperature records fall and fall and fall. But let's just be absolutely categorical about this. Heat waves are not due to climate Change. The extremes of heat that we are seeing are totally attributable to climate change, says Tom Clark.
