The Sacrifice of the Eucharist
Saint thomas sees the passion signified in other parts of the mass, as most importantly, the priest makes the sign of the cross over the bread and wine. According to older rituals for the mass, the priest does this many times, both before and after the consecration. And so the priest's repeated signs of the cross remind us of the sacrifice of christ, which is being represented in this sacrament. But we see especially in the priest, christ acting as the priest offering the sacrifice to god. So the eucharist is sacrament, but it is also a sacrifice.
