Is Chopin a Pessimist?
I think it's not fair to call Chopin our pessimist on the same grounds because he's not telling us that okay your lives are Completely in misery and dread. One of the things which I also particularly enjoyed while reading him was his very Sort of realistic almost phenomenological look at life. He says if everything is really beautiful and wonderful then why when I stop for a second does this like deep sense of boredom and Unrestful loneliness set in? And so he really takes that seriously, you're hearing what you hear from Caihelis from Ecclesiastes that life is constantly this treadmill of dissatisfaction but there's something just slightly missing.
