"I believe it's a lost leader. I don't know anybody else that's able to like cook a whole chicken and do it at a cost of, you know, $5," he says. "They're clearly in these like stationary houses, the birds eat, sleep, live in poop, like all in the same place every single day." Costco started their own fully integrated hatchery, feed mill, live, live and slaughterhouse. They're the first retailer in the world for sure that's done that, which is a pretty interesting play by them.
