If we're going to have any sort of semblance of environmental justice, we have to address the extraordinary costs that are being passed on to the most vulnerable communities. EPT is the what I have described as the Environmental Poverty Tax. If you live in a food desert then it costs you more to get any one food item than someone who does not because you are paying for transportation,. You are also having to pay in terms of your health.
