Mapping on line at the time was really ruled by map quest. Yahu also had a mapsite very much like matquest, and there was a steamer in the travel department that launched the staing where you could search for lik hotels and other things. The four approached several companies with their idea but no one was willing to fun them. Eventually they found an investor that seemed keen, only for a rival company to then release something very similar. It was nothing like what we were proposing, but it was enough that this investor concluded our window would close before we bedan.
