The Impossibility of Equality of Outcome

In a small group, this equality of outcome is perfectly sensible. But it doesn't work for what Friedrich Hayek called the Great Society. For a big society, you get all kinds of terrible problems. To actually make it happen, you've got to use coercion. And as Lord Acton said, power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
