Spotify laid off around 200 people this week. This is interesting because podcasts were supposed to be the big differentiator here. They spent a lot of money on building out this podcast network. I think that the podcast division is going to be something that is useful for Spotify in the long run, but they have to get the actual ad revenues matching up with the amount that they're paying the talent.
