Refugees and Human Rights in the Old Testament
We wanted to explore refugee welcome in the context, what in the terms of scripture itself. To these authors, the biblical concept of glean ing is first found in leviticus 19. Do not go over your vineyard a second time, or pick up the grapes that have fallen. Leave them for the poor and the foreigner. I am the lord your god. It was like an ancient safety net or food bank, and everyone had to participate. And i was just wrestling as a scholar, what did this mean to them?
