I don't think overall, unless there's an awful lot of caretaking and time of the baby with other people, that it matters all that much to the child as much as it matters to the mother. Jung has lamented in his writings that children are pressured to live their parents on lived lives. The best gift that a parent might give to a child is to know themselves adequately well.
