Is There a Need for Python for Data Science?
Panda was created to solve problems that statistics and data analysis were not exactly Python's bread and butter at the time. So a lot of, there were a lot of like folks in the Python developer community at the time that were a little bit disinterested in what I was working on. But it wasn't until he took a one year sabbatical from grad school and moved to New York that pandas started to pick up some steam. He says having his book out there helped him develop more breadth in terms of the capabilities of the pandas project.
