What Makes Ash Wednesday Special in Spain?
Carnival is a time when the community feels like it's one big family, says Claire Loieg from Hasbroon in southwest France. People dress up as animals to represent nature and are scared of them by bear-like creatures called "fairy elves" Augustine Sarissa recommends going to San Jean Delus for carnival during Ash Wednesday on the Spanish side or Tolosa (pronounced Toulouse) The French version would be Yalté d'Yacacac - Stéarté Tuesday.
