When the aircraft passed one thousand feet height, the approach was not stabilized. So the crew should have initiated a go around. The problems of the radio altimeter system in the bowing seven 37 800 fleet had been effecting several air lines for many years. Several airlines, including turkish air lines, regarded the problems of the radios as technical problem, rather than a hazard to flight safety. As a result, the pilots were not informed of this issue. It has become clear that the existing procedures, tests and routines applied by several airlines,. including turTurkish air lines, were not sufficient in order to resolve the prolems wat the erroneous radio altitude values.
