We tested some queries that we were testing in Redshift and we found large window operations who worked much better on Redshift. Although I'm not sure if they've been fixed. This was late 2018, I think. Yeah, that's another nice aspect of BigQuery was the server-side version upgrade. So any updates are just automatically propagated to us as customers and we don't have to upgrade as we do with Presto. And again, one of the trade-offs of it's useful, but then you do have to think about what is the cost aspect. It makes it a little bit more explicit when it's a line item in the bill. yeah, totally.

One of the best ways to get a true understanding of how a technology works in practice is to hear from people who are running it in production. In this episode Zeeshan Qureshi and Michelle Ark share their experiences using DBT to manage the data warehouse for Shopify. - How did you get involved in the area of data management?
- Can you start by giving an overview of what the Shopify platform is?
- What kinds of data sources are you working with?
- Can you share some examples of the types of analysis, decisions, and products that you are building with the data that you manage?
