What Are Senescent Cells?
Senescent is the biological word for getting old, a basicso we talked about negligibly senescent tortoises. And you can have a similar effect where a cell is actually just divided too many times. As you get older, youve got an increased risk of getting these sinescent cells. They pump out this toxic cocktail of molecules that are meant to kill them off. But unfortunately, wen, you ony mean, an, fails to do that,. over time, those molecules can basically accelerate the aging process. We know most about this because ow might all sound quite depressing. But actually, we've done these experiments where you can remove these sinescence cells.
