The History of Liberalism

The problem that I characterize as freedom and intermediate groups, freedom and intermediate group life admits of multiple answers. When I join an association or when I live in any social body, how do we think about those norms relative to my freedom? In the book I argue that that structure runs very deep into the history of liberalism,. who indeed it's genealogy before there is such a thing as liberalism; central to liberal thought to this day.
