Mike Marson: The First Black Player in the NHL

Mike Marson was the first black player to play in the NHL after willio re. The Capitals drafted him when he was just 18 and he debuted for the team in 1974. He notching 16 goals and 12 assists in his rookie season. But in that first season Mike was on the receiving end of a lot of hate. Here he is from a 2019 interview with NHL.com.
