Ultima Online and Its Impact Inside of the Game's Business

I would say that Ultima was more of a success inside of the game's business than it was necessarily a huge commercial success I mean it probably peaked at maybe a hundred thousand maybe a couple hundred thousand subscribers and that's still meaningful but nothing by today's standards of success so I think it did well. You had Sony online green light variants Everquest down in San Diego and that came out in 1999 their innovation was more 3D graphics because Ultima was kind of still an isometric 2D game. They brought some of these technologies from the first person shooter right the third person 3D and they brought that into this online role playing concept.
