The infinite depth of who you are is confused with the sound produced by the vocal cords or the thought of I in your mind. So what do the usual I and the related me, my or mine refer to? You talk about when a young child first learns to identify my toy. Yes, that's the beginning of ego when the child starts to identify with an external object. That's why kids go into spasms over a toy and you're going, it's just a toy. And two days later they lose interest in it. Right.
