The social capital is what makes the difference between institutions failing kind of uncorrelatively and just being replaced. So I think if all this institutions in society are sort of self cannibalizing, of course, trust goes down because the only way to get ahead is to be untrustworthy. That starts depleting these mass reserves of social trust.
