In all cases, businesses were led by financial planners who wanted to buy accounting firms. That's not a particularly deep reason to be in business and unlikely to be rewarded over time. To stay the cause, you have to have a real reason to do it. And so it's good to study the warnings because we often learn more from the warnings than you do even from the examples.
