Benny Goodman recorded the song multiple times, starting in 1940. The most famous example is the version he recorded in 1942 for Decca with instrumental foxtrot on the label. That version features Illinois Jacquet on saxophone and has a hunk and scrunk to it that was unlike anything people had heard before.
