How Astronomers Classify Galaxies
There is no single way that astronomers classify galaxies. You might hear some astronomers classify galaxies according to their size. The large and small Magellanic clouds are dwarf galaxies. There's no threshold in the number of stars or in size or in mass. People can say that galaxy is a dwarf, but that galaxy is full grown.
